An After Skating Party For Sixteen

| Hot Chocolate For Sixteen | Broiled Tomato Bacon & Cheese Open Face Sandwiches | ||||||||||||||||||
| 1 1/4 cups unsweetened cocoa 1 1/4 cups sugar 1 gallon milk 1 tablespoon vanilla 1 pint unsweetened whipped heavy cream Cinnamon, optional Mix sugar and cocoa in a very large pot. Add 1/2 cup warmed milk. Stir over very low heat until well blended and and smooth. Slowly add remainder of milk, stirring constantly. Heat slowly until just beginning to bubble around the edges. Add vanilla. Pour into heated soup tureen.* Cover with dollops of whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired. Surround tureen with mugs. |
Prepare ahead except for broiling.
16 slices white bread, lightly toasted Spread each piece of toast with mayonnaise. When ready to serve, place under broiler just until cheese melts. Watch carefully! |

Hot Apple Pandowdy
For sixteen servings, make recipe twice. |

| 1 cup butter 2/3 cup sugar 1 cup beaten egg 1 cup milk 2 1/4 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 4-5 cups sliced apples 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 2 tablespoons molasses Whipped cream or Vanilla ice cream |
In mixer, heat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add alternately with milk.
Mix apples, brown sugar, molasses and cinnamon together and place in a buttered 11" x 7" baking dish. Spread butter evenly over top. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 50 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. |
